Wow,

Coming in late here.. great shop!!! :o

I wish I could:

1) afford to build that shop

2) get a permit to build that shop

3) buy a time machine (that is another story)

Very nice.
When is the opening party? :D :D

We do plan to have a big shindig when it's all done (closer to sumer though)

thanks trevor...i used a product called masterseries (an old vw builder from thesamba.com uses & sells it and there is some good info from him or in posts on thesamba.com...if you need info i'll dig it up). 2 coats of the masterseries primer/sealer and 3 of the masterseries gloss black chassis topcoat. all done by hand (foam roller, foam brush & bristle brush)...east van style! i didnt have the resources to spray it (compressor, gun, fresh air respirator) so it was a little time consuming...but i'm happy with the results. it's cheap, uv resistant and easy to touch up. time will tell how well it stands up!

From the photos it looks really nice and smooth. I'd say if it holds up it might be a nice alternative to a powder coated pan, which is great but like you say isn't always doable.

I'll dig that info up.

Did you buy iy locally or out of the USA?

hey trevor...sorry for not responding sooner...i know we've got the best powder coating guy in the area right here on these forums (russ @ francis andrew site furnishings)...but for this particular project i never considered powder coating the pan as an option.

i did however want to try something different. i know lots of people that have used por15, rustbullet, zero rust, ect with success...but when i started reading and learning more about masterseries and talking with chuck (the guy that sells  it) it made me want to give it a try. so...i would consider masterseries an alternative to those that dont want to use the other above mentioned products. like we've said...time will tell to see how well it holds up...but it looks pretty good right now (should have some more pics before the end of today ;))

when i was talking about resources...i meant for the application of the masterseries. my garage electrical cant handle a high amperage output for a compressor, and i dont have a fresh air resperator or a gun.

chuck is in conneticut. i got it shipped to blaine & went & picked it up there.

here are a few threads from thesamba.com (many more where they came from)...
