Pressure Plates?
« on: June 28, 2004, 04:36:56 PM »
So as you all know from my loungs post I've screwed up my pressure plate and throuout bearing.
Should I go with another Stage 1 (1700lb) or should I try something else? I have a few stock ones that are good and a few good discs (my existing one was unharmed as well)

Also what kind of throwout bearing do I need to make this work and can I just remove the throwout arm from my spare tranny and put it in my old tranny?

you just need a early throwout arm and an early bearing
if you buy a new kennedy pp then it comes with the the proper adaptor ring

James, Stock PP will not hold. Bring me the stage 1 to have a look and see how bad it is. You can have it fixed by Kennedy for $30.00 USD or so.
You will need to buy a new one until it's fixed but at least you can make the races (or Seattle)

It's a couple of fingers that are kinda tweaked - and yes I do measure once cut thrice!!!!

I meant by above \"69deluxbus\" post that I have stock german disc's and german pressure plates and I wondered if they would work in the interm.

He, I think I know someone with a big ole sandrail trailer that has a spare 1700 kickin' around....

I vote for a Stage two and one of 3 discs. Daiken, Copper head, or Dual friction Centerforce/Berg.
