Post by: bagged oval on March 22, 2014, 05:59:32 PM
I have a later style rancho trans that came with my 56 oval i've been working on but it doesn't seem to wanna fit my front trans mounts on the car ?? Does this mean i need a different nose cone ??? I guess the previous owner bought a 67 and later rancho. Thanks in advance for any help .

For a later trans into a split case original car you need the bus trans nosecone and hockey stick I got it all at CIP.

VWC-211-301-205-H - TRANSMISSION NOSE CONE - BUS 60-67 (USES HOCKEY STICK VWC-113-311-541)
VWC-113-311-541 - HOCKEY STICK - FORGED HD - FOR USES WITH NOSE CONE 211-301-205-H - BUS 60-67 - SOLD EACH

The mount adapter is solid and I don't think there is a rubber option:
ACC-C10-4749 - FRONT TRANSMISSION ADAPTER MOUNT - ALLOWS THE USE OF A FULL SYNCRO TRANSMISSION IN 1959 & EARLIER BEETLE & CONVRTBL.

I went with a mid mount that has urethane bushings to dampen vibrations didn't like the thought of solid mounting for a daily driver.

Hope this helps,
Chris
