Last night was spent cutting away the stock battery tray and surounding area to make room for the oil resevoir tank. The tank holds aprox 12 liters of oil when full and has three large hoses connected to it. It is important that this be in the correct place so as to re use the orig Porsche oil lines. In the first pic you can see the battery tray has been cut away and the tank set in place. There are three mounting areas on the tank, so all we need to do is set it in its place and fabricate some mounts.

The next shot shows one bracket set in place, this is a factory VW bracket from some VW (i found it in my scrap pile) good to have thing like this around :) Filling the oil tank will be dificult with the filler in the stock form. We may cut and turn the filler neck at a later time

Next shows how a simple bracket welded to the inner fender will support it.

Below you can see the rough area cut away to fit the tank, this will all be removed and a new panel fitted once the tank is in place. This is the second and lower bracket .

The last pic shows the pass outside rear corner, Here you can see a small portion of the oil tank, this will be hidden by the bumper.  The third and last bracket will be made soon and then on to cleaning up that area of rust and fitting the new sheet metal around the tank.
