heater controll cables

how do the heater cables work.  Im installing new ones and its a sold cable that i have routed threw both tubes and to the back of the car.  Now inside the car i have the cable but dont undertand how to hook it up so it will pull the cable and open heater boxs.

well had a beer and looked at it again....all makes sence now i had the adjustment screw in wrong
