from IRS to swing axle

I know guys go from swing axle to IRS all the time but has anyone ever swapped a swing axle onto a later IRS Pan? Plz pardon my ignorance Im just looking at options. Any help is appreciated.

Effectively, one of my cars is like that.  My Mexican Beetle is swing axle, yet the original German pan is IRS.  All the swing axle stuff fits.  The only mods you need to do is the brake line brackets on the frame horns.  The IRS pan doesn't have the brackets needed for swing axle.
