Is it a good idea to spray a new muffler with black tremclad paint before installing it? Would this help protect it either bit?

I've had pretty good luck with VHT flame proof coating 1500 deg.
Stays on for a while, not for ever. Any other paint just burns off
right away .You'll need to get it's original paint off first though.

It will be a new muffler. The one that is on the car is starting to rust so i wanted to replace it while it's up on stands in the garage for the winter.
