Is it possible to just mount a 6volt flywheel on a 1600DP, for installation into a 6volt transmission? This would a temporary fix until I decide to grind out the 6volt tranny or rebuild something else
Thanks Mike

Yes and no. Depending on the type of flywheel you have. VW made many different types including a 200mm clutch with 12v ring gear o-ring crank
180mm clutch with 6v ring gear non o-ring crank
180 mm clutch with 12 volt ring gear non o-ring crank
200mm clutch with 6v ring gear o-ring crank
There could be other combos but those are the ones i have seen. They are getting harder to find but you may try a wanted ad on the samba.

I guess it's possible , but the 6 volt flywheel doesn't have an O ring so you would need
a new gasket over the dowels and a new flywheel seal and reset the end play.
I think thats it or can anyone add something
