wtb aircooled engine
« on: February 13, 2011, 09:53:26 AM »
I'm looking for a 1600 dual or single port short or long block for my car as my current engine case is pounded out due to a bad thrust bearing that the previous owner neglected to mention when I bought the car. All I need is something to get my car on the road for a little while as the lease is up in a couple weeks on our other car and it is being returned and we can't afford to get another car until we get our taxes back.

Preferably the Okanagan/Kamloops/shuswap areas bit willing to go as far as Abbottsford if the price is right.

Let me know what you have and how much.

Hans

Im in the okanagan and there may be a couple options around, I know where there is a squareback out salmon arm way that was offered to me for free and it had a 1600 dp longblock that the owner claimed was running before parked.... would be a bit of work, but if things are tight right now could be a good option.... give me a call at 250 515 1878 im sure we can find something for ya

Ok, I will call you sometime this week and maybe set up a time to go see it. I have found a long block in Spokane for $100 but the earliest I would be able to get that one would be the middle of march, if I could find one closer to home for around the same price that would be great.

Yeah I saw that one. If I was going to keep a stock motor in it I would probably look into getting that one, but I'm wanting to do a type 4 upright (Raby DTM) conversion so I'm just looking for something to tie me over till I can save up enough to do it.

did you ever figure something out? just found a notch in a field that may have a good 1500 longblock.

Got a long block from the coast a couple weeks ago, got everything painted and swapped over from the old one and got it up and running last weekend and put it back on the road this weekend as I'm starting a new job on Monday so we will need the second car again. I still have a couple more things I'm wanting to do to it though, get it painted and do an IRS swap and maybe a set of wheels and tires down the road.
