Compared to new points and condensor, the Pertronix offers no more power nor better mileage.  However, as soon as you start to drive the car with points and cond, they start to degrade.  Your dwell changes, which changes your timing.  This leads to reduced hp, and lower mileage.
The Pertronix offers rock steady ignition performance that does not degrade.
Although you might think a Pertronix is expensive, in reality it is cheap.  Since the dwell and timing never changes, you don't need to own a dwell meter or a timing light.  All you need is to borrow a timing light for the initial setup, then you are done for the life of the engine.

How would inquiring about a product, on a local internet forum possibly raise the price of that world-wide product?

It has not much to do with my real question however, in a way it could work as follow:

Knowledge about the product could spread around the world and especially on this medium.

If such knowledge is substantiated by factual and empirical data it would promote the desire for such product.

I may buy one, and them someone else may buy one and so on increasing DEMAND and the distribution and retail industries would increase the SUPPLY in order to replace their stock by possibly increasing production (maybe increasing Capital and Labor cost) and consequently would sell such stock at the highest price the merchandise in question would yield in a world-wide marketplace.

This will eventually cause inflation which will be reflected by Statistics Canada (because it is not net out like housing cost and fuel.) This in turn will result in high interest rates, our prime rate will go up along with mortgages and we be all up the creek.

HOW IS THAT FOR AN EXPLANATION: D

Just having fun :D  :D  :D
