***** Please see official Great Canadian VW Weekend info listed in above post*******
So, is there no Great Canadian Show this year? It is not on the calendar yet. I searched the Samba events calendar too, nothing. What gives? Who knows, and is not sharing well with others?
Gordo.

We're just working out the details now, details to follow.

Weekend of August 23rd, according to the GCVWS thread: http://www.airspeedparts.com/forums/index.php?topic=21514.0
-
I don't think that's set in stone..... that post is followed by:
"We're just working out the details now, details to follow."

Yes we are working towards the weekend of Aug 24th, with our growing event a location for the Sunday show is getting tougher to find. Dave and I are working on this and will have info as soon as its available.

bitter sweet news i guess. i loved the location and layout of the show last year and it would be a drag to move...but knowing and hearing about the growing success of the gcvws is awesome!!
-
oooooo a new location?
-
Anything yet? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
Gordo.

As long as it isn't the 16-18 weekend.....we just booked camping for that one.

Still looks more likely to be the following weekend Aug. 24-26: http://s8.zetaboards.com/okanaganvw/topic/8415095/1/
Can anyone please confirm? Looking forward to attending, but need to give notice at work to book vacation time off.
Thanks!
-
Yes those are the dates that are set, unfortunatly we do have a venue change this year and it has been a long process to try and bring the event to this new location. (Best location yet)
We were to announce details this week but another delay with the City means it may be next week before we can give details.
-
Can you tell us which city?
-
does it rhyme with Moquitlam, Spangley, Scurvey, Pancouver? ;)
-
Sunday may be in spamcouver
-
Geoff,
Can you please confirm if the Friday Street Legal races will be held at Mission? I might bring the Beetle again, depending on the weather forecast as we get closer to the date.
Thanks!
-
Ed the 23 is a open night!
-
I've had a few calls regarding the GCVWS. Has the date been finalized? any flyers or posters in the works?
-
As we stated above, we're working on a venue. Until we get that there is nothing we can do.

We were at "Revive em and drive em" last weekend at the Pacific Inn in White Rock. It's an awesome venue for a show. The Hotel is extremely tolerant, great courtyard with pool, Inside room with french doors to a grass courtyard for vendors/live music, tonnes of parking, and central/easy to get to by both Canadians and Americans, onsite Accomodations (charged us $100 rate for show participants), short drive to the beach for organizing a cruise, still fairly close to Shark's Club Langley if they still want to support. It'd be worth looking into if nothing comes of the venue your trying to book, or for future GCVWS

I was talking with a few of the Dub-Allstar guys as well trying to brain storm locations. What about the CIP1 parking lot complex?
-
Cip lot is a no go as well as best buy lot, colossus, trinity and a few others.
Fingers crossed we may have a location by the weekend.
-
Anyone gets a chance, check out Father's Day in the park at heritage park in Mission, close to the strip.
