Bubba's Project
« on: October 23, 2004, 08:13:50 AM »
This is my baby.   It is a body off pan restoration done by the guys at AVR.  I have been looking for a good solid base for my street/strip project for about a year now.  My 15 year old son has been bit by the bug after sampling a few drag nights at Mission, and some trips to Bug-In. He really wants to try drag racing.  The current motor is a 1600 SP...all stock with a stock 64 trans. It has been about 15 years since I built a performance aircooled drivetrain, so i am combing the forums for info.  Currently looking for a swing axle trans to build.  The motor so far...

- new as41 case, clearanced, flowed, etc.
- CB 84mm crank -chev journals -wedge with 12.5 lb flywheel
- CB h-beam rods 5.5\"
- 90.5 Berg specials(!) total seal
- FK 89 cam steel straight cut gears
- ceramic followers
- superflow heads - DRD reworked
- 30 mm pump, Berg relief cover
- 48 IDA's
- Type 1 DTM

Oh yeah, that is my tournament boat in the background... Never can have enough toys! B)  B)  B)

Looks like you get a nice project going there!

I wouldn't mind checking out the DTM sometime.
