Between other projects I will be building a super lightweight 1956 race bug.
I am going to build everything myself except for the trans.
I will try to post everything that I do.
This is
DER KLEINE KRAUTI purchased the car through Airspeed summer of 2005
Since I am new to the racing side of things.I will probably need some input here and there. That is what you guys are here for! I will only write about stuff which I have already done or need an answer to. Because I change my mind frequently by the minute about stuff that I would like to do. I am going for the patina look and will concentrate on the motor only with this car!
All out speed is what I am after .I don't care about taking it on the freeway
or keeping stock gear ratios. 1/4 mile time is the key! I don't care what I have to do to get it. Whether it be cutting something off or welding something on.But I want this car to remain stock looking from the outside. This car will go fast. Every nut, bolt washer or metal piece which I can lighten with aluminum or create with fiberglass will be done. I would really like your input on what you have done to lighten your machine to race.
To begin I ditched the fenders and bought airspeed racing fenders.
I also have a fiberglass w decklid from the airspeed swap
