anyone have original plug wires?
« on: September 11, 2012, 09:49:26 PM »
im really not happy with the "extra" amounts of wire that they kindly give to us on the plug wire sets, im curious if anyone has a great fitting set of original wires, what im really after is roughly how many feet of wire would a decent set of fitting wires be? end to end rough guesses could work too, or samba links i cant find nothing on there but some people are awsome at it!

let me know!

answered my own question this time, i will share my findings, thanks to vwboop for letting me use his fine collection for such data, these are from a short cap vw labelled distributor single port engine with out the top wires and non-supressor plug ends all on a 40horse engine

plug #1 26 1/2 inches
"  "   #2 26 1/2 "  "
"  "   #3 16 inches
"  "   #4 15 3/4 " "
coil wire 5 3/4 "  "

again these are tight very old if not original wires the 3-4 wires came sharply off the cap but i think with a bosch distributor they would look more fitting due to the taller body and cap. interested me on the findings figured i would share incase anyone else is bothered by their nasty mickey mouse ear wires they have!
