Title: kevins return to the dub life
Post by: 70's Looker on November 10, 2009, 10:09:00 PM: ok so posted up earlier in another thread figured i would start up one of these bad ass build threads for this piggy, but its a 61 og paint turkis car, plans for this one is getting rid of the paint, adding muhallond fenders and skirts gonna paint it a bright blue with pink scallops, should be cool!!!!

im also thinking of running a baja type exhaust the kind that has a stinger sticking up in the air, if anyone has one i would want it, prefrence going to the chrome style! also looking for some prelude front seats, and bass speakers with wire grills!

shes gonna be an attention seeking whore, so let me know will these options suit this car or what kinda style/mods should i go with everyones input would be great!

Post by: 70's Looker on November 21, 2009, 09:16:56 PM: well i just got back from a 6 or 7 hour tour in washington with the bakers, what all did i net well turkis tail lite housings, not og paint but will do till i find some of those for the car, and a early 40 horse engine that will be headed to jimmy's tomorrow for some fine tune upings! so looks like itll be slow but still kick ass!

Post by: 70's Looker on December 12, 2009, 02:50:33 PM: shawn and i had to check out langley U blast, got a buncha my engine tin all cleaned up! looks great and if your thinking about going this route well worth the money when i left i may have had a little less cash, but i have NO sand in my hair,neck,ass,driveway etc etc well worth the money folks! pictures up later!

Post by: 70's Looker on January 11, 2010, 07:12:43 AM: i finally did something to this cute little piggy, i installed new heater cables, rather easy i found thought it was gonna be a huge bear but it was cool basically lucked out cause the tubes were still heavily filled with grease! i also grabed a "door rubber kit" from wolfsburg west 200 and change and ya get all new felts, wing rubber door rubber scrapers (that fit) all the door post rubber small price to pay to have a nice legit door if annyones thinking aboot it, anyways cali is in a few months so i gotta get cranking updates soon!

ps sweet polish job was done on the weekend as well, i will let whoever did it to take credit he just has to log onto airspeed and post! haha

haha anything is possable when ya have little to loose, the fronts been mangled before why not again

on a side note after BP we were all in a working mood so i got the drill out and started on the spot welds heater channel on pass side is ready to come out now see danny boy it is a two day job lol ok well maybe three depends on how well the coronas go down tomorrow :P

vega tail lights are played out.

you need to get 12 teardrop tail lights and arrange 6 on each rear fender in the shape of a flower. duct tape a bullet signal lense in the middle of those and voila... :-*

Post by: 70's Looker on August 18, 2010, 09:28:37 PM: so ive left this one dead for awhile but by popular demand i will post up what ive been up to! ive got it back on the ground on its wheels and half assed brake set up i went with 944 brakes on all corners supplied from lanner at vdub engineering i just have to settle on what kinda roters i want and yes its low the other weekend when i rolled the car outta the shop to take these pics it got caught on a EXTENSION cord granted thats low but in all reality its to low to run in langley let alone vancouver so ive raised it up slightly i still only have 3 inch clearence but F-it thats the look i want hope you all aprove

BAMM!!!! that thing is so hot i had to quote the whole damn post all over again with the pictures!!! great job buddy!!!

as far as rotors go...talk to jim martin...i'm pretty sure he went with a Neal set-up and iirc...they've got a great product, good selection and are reasonably priced.

keep it up and let me know if you need an extra set of hands/eyes/ears/etc!!

Post by: 70's Looker on November 28, 2010, 10:57:52 PM: ok so ive decided to keep going on this car, i got back into it tonite, pulled my trans swaped back to a short/short axle set up after having brake alignment issues using long/short axle set up it looked better but the brakes just wouldnt work, so got that back together and its back on its wheels the heat in the bakers shop was workin well so figured i would finish the bumper brackets and rear apron, got them all tacked up and into place and to my surprise the decklid even latched, rest assured kevin can do something right!! :P
