6x4 4130 Type 1 Torsion A Arms :)
« on: April 13, 2006, 04:29:51 PM »
Picked up a pair of new IRS arms at the washington show...i had a guy in orgeon make them for me..and he sent them with his buddys to the show...they are sweet...

the pivots were set up so i should run with 0 camber at 6" suspension ride hight..they mount to the stock IRS pivot location..and run a heim adaptor inplace of the spring plate end cap.
they have a type 2 style CroMo bearing housing, but use a double roller inner bearing..kinda like a FWD car uses up front..
the arms are built out of 4130cromo

i take shitty pics but here ya go...you cant see it..but the arms have a plate welded on both the bottom and the top of the arm...LOL man i just looked at them again..i really need to learn how to use a camera.

if anyone is looking for arms like this i can hook you up with his #

Dood, the welds are awesome. i have another 3 pics...all close ups of welds...and they all SUCK.
you dont get any idea of how big the arms are from the pics...i guess just imagine the distance from an IRS pivot to the end of a torsion tube..thats how wide they are..

i would like to take a better shot, but i droped the arms off at UPMs shop..oh well..they will take better pics when mounted on the car ;)

the arms were a smokin deal.. $400 USD for arms, i paid 724USD for the arms, heims, heim/torsion adaptors..and a pair of the double wide bearings.

here is the double shear front shock mounts..the car has kinda been sleeping while waiting for my arms to be built..and my head to get ported/cam swap.

now Chris is in the process of moving so it looks like the car will be sleeping for a few weeks.

i gotta say that the new front shock mounts kick azz...ask chris, it was a PITA to make those things look "good" on the car...i am sure the single shear woulda done fine, but now its bullet proof.
