While you are changing gears, or while you let the clutch out?

Put a couple of washers between the bowden tube and the bracket on the gearbox sidecover to give the tube more bend.

A solid center clutch disc is more prone to this type of chatter.  Consider a spring center disc next time the engine's out.

Willis

Check all your transmission mounts and see if they are split  2 rear one center front,it sounds to me like your front trans mount shit the bed!

Hey Schveng , its not really about .... one washer for this... two washers for that . Its about getting a good bend in the bowden tube so that any movement of the trans will not have an effect on the operation of the clutch. Otherwise it starts a brutal back and forth cycle (chatter).    Could also be a combo of many things
