Island Bugs
« on: January 22, 2004, 01:30:50 AM »
Hi  Wayne in Victoria  I started using the Island bugs name after buying the Island Bugs oval drag car several years ago. I started out with a 69 bus in the early 70's then in '81 (ya I'm that old!)got a' 65 vert then sold it to get the '67 vert I still have. I was fortunate to get the California Imports drag car last year but unfortunate to flip it at Bremerton in July. Finished the season with the Super Shifters at Mission Raceway with the Island Bug. This year I hope to sell it and have the chassis car all updated and repaired when the racing season begins.

best time for my convertible was a 5.95 at our local track 385' long, my only 1/4 mile passes were at SIR with a flat camshaft I think it was around 14 flat. The Island bugs best was 11.76. The white car finally ran a 10 sec pass just before it decided to take off in Bremerton . wayne
