Great Canadian 2020 dates
« on: October 26, 2019, 01:35:46 PM »
I know it’s early but for those of us that have to pick our holidays a year in advance, is there any idea on which weekend in August the show might be on?

very, very, very tentatively set on the August 16th weekend.

Expect the date to change, it's entirely based on property availability.

fyi to all...the gcvws 2020 has been cancelled (see official gcvws facebook post quoted below).

stay safe, have a good summer and we'll see you all at the 2021 gcvws!!

The staff of the GCVWS have the health and safety of all our attendees in mind while making this difficult decision. Due to provincial government regulations, it is with great sadness that we must cancel the 2020 Great Canadian VW Weekend (as we know it).

We ask that everyone please support the health workers and local communities by driving their VW's on Aug 21-23. ( take your family out in your car,Organize a cruise of VW's past your local hospital or care home, visit with friends inside your bubble and post photos over that weekend) We would love to see each group, club, come together (under 50 people and withing BC's guidelines) and organize a cruise of their local Hospital or area with a potential of joining up along a highway stretch for all to enjoy. We ask that everyone go their separate ways following the cruise and keep any gatherings to under 50 people and in open air areas.

If you have reserved a hotel please remember to cancel your booking if you will not be visiting Vancouver that weekend.

We hope that 2021 brings returned health and prosperity to All and we look forward to once again hosting the Greatest VW Show in Canada!
