How do you separate ball joints from control arms (late beelte if it matters)?

Thanks

take the bolt off, then take a big hammer and give the control arm (right where the ball joint sits) a few big smacks, the ball joint should pop right off!

Thanks for the tips, I beat on it a bit, then ended up taking them to bow-wow to be pressed out and new ones back in.

This narrowing / adjustable beam is getting more and more expensive. Tomorrow I hack it in two pieces, might be into airspeed on Monday purchasing a new beam. :D

it's also good practice to not take the nut completely off, but leave it threaded on by 3 or so threads at the bottom. this will allow the balljoint to become unseated but not come completely out. sometimes when the tapered end of the balljoint pops out it flys and you wouldnt want to damage yourself or your car.

also, if you plan on replacing the balljoint, you can use a pickle fork and a hammer to unseat them. this may damage the balljoint or the seal, so if you plan on re-using them, dont try this method. ;)

trick; slop a big blob of wheel bearing grease on the rubber bool and pickle fork- 90 % chance you won't F up the seal.
