Sunday, November 2: The Ladner to Bellingham All British Run (see details below).

London-Brighton Commemorative Run

(Formerly the Ladner-Bellingham All British Run and possibly that again after 2010)

Commemorating the 1896 Motor Car Tour to Brighton

This is our major annual event and we invite you to

join us for this year's traditional celebration!

Due to congestion at the Canada/U.S. border, the Vancouver Coast Branch of OECC has voted to revise our traditional Ladner to Bellingham All British Run for 2008, 2009 and 2010 when construction at the border is scheduled to be complete. Honouring the tradition of our classic event, founded in 1996 by Roy Wilkins, we will continue to commemorate the 1896 Motor Car Tour to Brighton (known today as the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run) and use a route with a similar distance (54 to 60 miles) along with other commemorative aspects of that classic that we think participants will enjoy.

With a route entirely in British Columbia for the next few years, we anticipate that we may approach the 50-90 cars that participated in the Ladner to Bellingham before crossing the border became so difficult. We will have our traditional start, either in Ladner or at a new location yet to be determined, and will end at an attractive destination where there will be an optional lunch.

If you have done the Ladner-Bellingham in the past but have abstained recently because of the challenging delays at the border, we want you to know that the run this year has you in mind. The committee started working on this year's run in March. If you have thoughts about how to make it a success we would appreciate hearing from you. Of particular interest would be an appropriate destination where 100-150 people could have lunch in a timely fashion. Should you have thoughts or comments, please reply to the Roundabout editor who will direct your response to the committee (see the "Contact Us" menu).

This is the last major driving event of the season for English cars in British Columbia, so plan to join us on this traditional  tour!
