figured we may aswell get a classic 2012 photo gallery going on. hopefully lots of folks will contribute as time allows, so we can all enjoy the events and adventures from different perspectives.

we gassed up saturday night in vancouver...

drove vancouver to portland on sunday.

today...loaded up at Zündfolge Car Club US headquarters just outside of portland...

redding CA, close to zero visibility, snow on the road and hail and hard rain falling from the sky...

red bluff CA, and the view of what we just drove through. the pic doesnt do it justice, even the locals said they hadnt seen it this bad in a very long time...

tomorrow...so-cal!!

The DVKK has about 19 parking spots taken almost not enough for what we brought, they have trailers, transmissions, and Safari fans all over this place!

My trip has been pretty similar to what Silas has posted just from behind him. He is truly way more hardcore than I am.
The first day the weather was the worst I have ever driven in and I was in a SUV. He was in front the whole time pounding the freeway with the 64!

Some scary weather.

This was the end of day 1. Started to see 2x4's and tires on the freeway and decided to call it a night.

Tomorrow will bring a shake down of my 66 (It had about a mile on it when we left Portland) and some sight seeing. More to come!

gotta give a huge shout out to chris & allison for the companionship. it was very comforting to have such great friends and amazing people along with us for the crazy drive down!! great pics too chris...keep posting èm up. you too geoff!! and everyone else down here too...!!

Yah Silas!!! I've yet to do it but I admire people willing to drive old VW's on long road trips. That's what they were made for. Keeps us posted with lots of pics.

pretty cool to see lots of locals at nicks tonight...DVKK (rob, lanny, cameron, kroc, geoff), VVWC (andrew, greg and one other...sorry forgot your name ), CIP1 (gary, jason), Cloverwest Garage (dave) and the Zündfolge Car Club (chris, gina & daniel, chris & allison, lori & i). great night, sweet rides everywhere...

tomorrow it's OCTO and the largest gathering of barndoor buses ever (since they were all together at wolfsburg) then hopefully stop by the GFK 30th anniversary party...!

Busy day today! Started out at OCTO.

Moved our way down the PCH back to the hotel.

After some parking lot adjustments on my 66 we moved on over to the host hotel to see if anyone had a welder we could use. Thanks Slias for helping fix my fu$# up's!

Ended the night at the GFK anniversary party, and tomorrow the big show!

really happy we made it out to the GFK 30th anniversary celebration. wicked club, wicked cars with no signs of slowing down, i've always been a big fan of this club! i was pretty stoked when i met ronnie & tom from the club in the parking lot on the way out and tom commented on how my 64 reminded him about the early days of the GFK with the lowered stance, stock smoothies with caps and tough look...

early wake-up call to get into the big show tomorrow. woot!
