Title: Rotisserie?
Post by: 72vwtype2 on September 02, 2012, 05:41:01 PM
Has anyone ever used a rotisserie on a bay window bus? Can the ones that are made for american cars also be used for bay's?

They seem to be very useful for doing undercarriage work.

Any experience or information on bay window rotisseries is appreciated.

Thanks.

I think I saw a rotisserie for a bus for sale on the Victoria site for decent money.  Should be good for bay window buses.  It is the octagon style.

Thanks Alp.

I saw that one on the Victoria site. My only concern with that type of rotisserie is space. It seems like you have to be able to roll it along to flip over the van. Right now I only have access to a single garage spot. I guess you could roll it and then slide it back. That seems like a lot of work and could damage my floor.

Phil.

I've seen people make little dollys to fit under those so no sliding is required, or you could do smooth rolled pipe circles and stationary rollers on the floor so it could turn in place.

Seen any of these? : http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/search.php?search_keywords=rotisserie&search_terms=all&search_author=&search_forum=5&search_time=0&search_fields=titleonly&search_cat=-1&sort_by=0&sort_dir=DESC&show_results=topics&return_chars=200
Or these from the split bus forum (not much different from a bay when it comes to tilting it): http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/search.php?search_keywords=rotisserie&search_terms=all&search_author=&search_forum=4&search_time=0&search_fields=titleonly&search_cat=-1&sort_by=0&sort_dir=DESC&show_results=topics&return_chars=200
