I just started working on a 56 project...and fitting the rear fenders for the first time (of many) i notice that the front side of the fender hangs down quite a bit  further than the bottom of the heater channel. Probably 2.5 - 3 " ..I noticed in some of the build threads namely the amazing 54 in the members section that his car seams to be very close to flush with the bottom of the pan..are these cars the same in that area? the po put channels in this car but they COULD be wrong... any assistance would be much appreciated..I apologize in advance if this is the wrong area to post....I'll figure it out..Thanks

oh ya the rear fenders are the originals...
