this is interesting...it seems like some people are still a little bent out of shape about this whole thing. chill out and let it go!
here's the way i see it...
originally some people were kicking tires and some people were putting cash on the table. if anyone is at fault, it's the original seller for not going with the first "offer" (if you can call it that). but why should he be fielding and responding to pages of emails when he just wants to get rid of the truck (at a relatively decent/fair asking price). so go easy on him. i mean seriously...a double cab for $2000? we should all be relatively aware of the prices of type II's these days (especially the more desireable ones...deluxes, 21 & 23 windows and double cabs) so if one comes up for sale for that cheap dont hum & haw...grab it. and i'm not trying to get down on the people that were asking about the completeness of the interior or wanting to see more pics...we've all done that before...and we've all had something slip past us because of it (regardless of whether or not we're the 1st, 5th or last person to repsond to an add).
also...who's business is it that chris is selling the truck? no-ones! except for chris! if you want to post a heads up that it's on thesamba.com or a link to the add then that is being pro-active and helpfull...otherwise you start to look like an ass. why? because...we have all bought something and turned around and sold it to the person behind us (figuratively speaking)...and if you say you havent, you're lying.
and as far as the $3500 price bump...did we all suddenly forget how much a truck & trailer costs to get to and from the island? it's not cheap. factor that into the equation and add a few bucks so you can treat the lady friend to a nice lunch and there is $3500.
so...let's just all hug and make up. there will be other shit bought & sold in this world...some of us will get burned and others will get lucky...but we're all in it together so let's not f it up!!
oh...and good luck with the sale chris...
cheers!
