Well many of you know the story. My love for VW's started cause of my parents. When I was a little guy both my parents had beetles. Mom a beat up old 69 semi auto hardtop and Dad had a yellow 76 convertible. I remember the convertible very much. It was the ride he had while dating my mom. It was the car they drove off in on their wedding day. Unfortunetly in 1980 he sold it as priorities changed with a young family (as they always do)
This year marks my parents 30th anniversary and unbeknown to them (until this Sunday evening) my sisters and I have bought another one and restored it. We were shooting for a daily driver kind of car (as we are operating on a shoe string budget) and I think we even got a little better than that. Please no gabbing to friends about this story until tomorrow evening.......just in case!!!!
