What is the going rate for getting a floor pan sandblasted these days. Also what areas need to be covered other than the fuel line to protect from contamination or damage.

All the other tubes that would potentially have grease in them. Rubber caps with hose clamps should protect them. Duct tape will NOT.

Last time I had a pan blasted was $150. That included them painting it with zinc oxide epoxy primer. In Mexico, so not much value to you.

there is a shop down the street from KMS where you can sandblast yourself. You can do anything up to a car in size. I forget the name of the company but they are on the same street and just up the block before the stop sign.

Are you sure? I know B & W metal cleaners is down there but I've never seen a U-blast place down there.

I had an ad from them but can't seem to find it. B&W is behind KMS while this place is just down the same street as KMS. There is also a guy in Langley where you can do the blasting yourself. If I find the ad I will update the business name. If you go to the hot rod part of KMS they will know of the shop I would think.

The place on the same street as KMS is no more. Been gone for at least a year.

Canadian auto restorations in Langley has (or had) a U-blast setup for big stuff, IIRC you pay for how many bags of sand you use.

have someone do it for you,it's a pain in the ass and i don't think you will save much at all.
try the sponsor on this site like geoff suggested or the guy in portkells as well does a good job

for powder coating Russ, does the process fill in an small inperfections, or do all the parts need to be prepped as you normally would do for paint?

little tiny imperfections it will smooth out but rust pits or deep scratches will show.
you can't prep it like you would for wet paint since it goes through an oven at 400 degrees
jb weld in small patches or metal fillers do work to a degree.
the problem i have with them is sometimes you can still see the filler after powder coating, like it shadows not all the time but i warn people of it

Hey everyone in the Okanagan area,, I had my pan blasted by Chris at Supercleansoda and it turned out great! I would recommend him for sure. I will be returning this summer to get my body done so stay posted for pictures on that.

Just used Chris for some work on a Customer car. Chris was careful and meticulous about his work. never Pushed anything without my approval. If you want someone that cares about your car.......Use him!
