Mr Slammedbus

I thought it would look good on a bug - my orignal choice was a mouse grey but Jim's car is to close to it.
-
That's cool....Project Penny Bug!
-
:) Never thought of that!
Totally describes my budget!

James can you find a PPG code it should be DBC######???? If not I can mix it from the accumulative you gave but that means I would need to write it down........
-
Couldn't find the code according to the website it is a custom mix I only found this:
Copperhead Pearl Paint Code: By Stacey David & PPG. For further questions contact Auto Body Color and Supply of Nashville, Tennessee 615-726-0361.
Take this forumla to any PPG Distributor, and they'll do a custom mix for you.

Instead of the inch pincher we'll build the penny pincher
-
you know what is kind of a cool solid colour is 'rock grey'
-
Ya, now finding out what a metalic/pearl paint is worth I am leaning towards a solid color.
-
here is a good point to look at when deciding paint colours, which in the end was a very key point in my decision.it is a car and at some time while you own it ,god forbid!!.they may be a need too do repare or touch up.if you choose a multy layer super fancy paint job it may make it impossible too match later on.since m.b uses standox i was going too use vw polar metalic ,but found out that the yellow tint was not produced anymore.even thoe i located a pint, down the road a match would most likely become impossible.as many old tints are no longer used in modern paint codes.so i used a moden colour with tints that will always be around ,but changed up the metalic only,so down the road colour match should be easy.
also ,even if you use a solid colour a base/clear system is easier too blend in and repare spots if needed instead of a one step system.
-
Good tip Jim.
-
With the new proffit readers there is now the ability to make any paint in any shade.......Painters are using these to mix paints for repairs on vehicles that are now older and of course affected by UV light. Remember that the shade it is today may not be exactly what it is 5-10-15 years from now. Therefore mixing the original formula made it even more difficult for the refinisher to do a blend......James's copper color doesn't seem to be a tri-coat but rather a base clear with the pearl already in the base.....very common on today's vehicles
-
There ya have it - CopperHead Pearl it is!
-
Are ya sure now Mr. flashypants?
-
Yup, getting a deal I can't refuse....
-
its not the same as that crappy new pontiac colour is it (https://airspeedparts.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fforums.airspeedparts.com%2Fstyle_images%2F1%2Ficon8.gif&hash=e225d97d6ec98f43679d10676ed1facf06261320)
-

http://www.truckstv.com/news.aspx?iid=2141 (http://www.truckstv.com/news.aspx?iid=2141)
-
I dunno, thats pretty close to crappy pontiac copper BLAH!
-
What color is your bus there Kermit?
-
green and white, thought that was obvious ?? hence your use of kermit.
-
Apparently it is from a vehicle on Trucks (a show) and the vehicle was custom made from the PPG reps in Tenessee. Since the vehicle is called copperhead....the paint became Copperhead as well. It is not.....I repeat....not from a Pontiac....chev....ford...or any other res rocket. It is actually a real sweet looking colour :mullet:
-
res rocket
Now that's funny! SPecially from you.
-
Can't knock the injuns unless you are one..........makes our injun blood boil and makes us all fu$%in unruly and shiat :mullet:
