Pan-swap Question
« on: June 25, 2004, 09:04:17 AM »
Hey guys.
I'm presently working on buying a 70 vert beetle.
I've never done a pan swap on a convertible before so I'm wondering if the pans are the same because of the side-rails for the convertibles.
The pan I have is a completely restored IRS from a 70 sedan.
Any thoughts or comments?

the only difference is the lack of a jacking point on the 'vert pan. Just cut the sucker off the sedan pan.

don't have the jackpoints anyways.
the on-ramp to the Albion Ferry has 'em along with a pan section from under the battery!
RRRRRIIIIIIIPPP.
Was a LITTLE too low and a little too fast.

So I take it the vert rails are actually part of the body and not the pan?

I'm a noob to convertibles so bare with me.
