Heater Channel Parts Needed?
« on: August 09, 2006, 10:22:03 PM »
Just bought a 1971 Super project. Overall, in very good original condition. Only 75,000 original miles, one family owned and drives great!
When I removed the running boards, I found the area they bolt on to is quite rusted, in some cases, gone.
I am new to restoring these cars and am trying to figure out which sheet metal parts I need to buy. The heater channels on the inside of the car and the door step areas are solid. Do I need to buy heater channels, heater channel bottom plates or rocker reinforcing panels?
Thanks for the help.

I believe that the rust you see is only a fraction of what it in there. I you plan to keep it, I would change the channels.

My 2 cents
