i cant find an old topic on it, but what is a general outline about doing a conversion on this matter, taking a irs bus trans and putting it into a irs bug frame, like what would need to be swaped out, changed, fabbed any hints will help!

Very easy swap, Is this going into a Baja or street car? You can buy the Bugpack trans mount kit,Then it basicly bolts in... the shift rod can be mated up using the adapter that AVR/CIP1 sells, it allows the shift rod to stay in the tunnel.
You will now have the larger bus CV's on the trans side, stock beetle axles will work and you can use thing drive axles or the ones AVR/CIP1 sells so you have the larger BUS Cv's on the drum side as well.
Will you be using a 002 1968-71 trans? if so thats a direct bolt on to a T1 1600 motor the later 72 up trans will require changing to the early bell housing and input shaft.
