Contact Dan Airth, he had a mess of 12V B2 / BN2 heaters (3 or 4?) he was looking to sell and while he's not interested in selling parts I think the price will be right for the lot of them.

He goes by "Dan" on the site, funny concept ;)'

I could probably part with one. You'd need to drive to squamish Mon/Tues, or wait until I'm back from the Fall Freeze.

Which BN2 do you have?  Early one with the Hardi pump and pressure regulator or the later one with the pulse pump.    They take slightly different glow plugs.  The one on Kijiji above is for a bus.  The Samba ones are from Geoff on this site.  You should email him to see if he has the right one.

Glow plugs aren't cheap so be prepared to buck up, freeze or get a water cooled car with a real heater.

I think mine is the later. The kijiji one looks wrong. Mine has quite a long shrouded reach. The original pump had no separate regulator, just a pulse pump. The pump died last year so im using a small automotive fuel pump regulated way down. Id like another proper pump too but apparently that harder than a glowplug to get

Have you performed the measured flow test outlined in the manual?, what you describe sounds like a recipe for BOOM!

Would it be possible for us to see a pic of your glow plug?  Would provide some idea as to how well your non stock pump is working.  Do we have a pic of the top of your heater? That will tell us the pump you should be using.  Late pumps are tough to find.  Earlier ones not so much but the regulator is impossible to find.

Not trying to be a dick with my previous comments but these old heaters are becoming very costly to rehab and keep running.  When you factor in costs to get something reliable there may be other more cost effective alternatives and I know it is hard to switch to a non ACVW.

I will get a pic of the glowplug over the next couple days but the heater worked perfectlyall last winter with  a fair bit of initial tuning of the fuel delivery. The safety flame out system works the way it should. Always lights quickly and cool down fan shuts down within the proper time limits. The glow plug died because it got dropped when I took it out for cleaning...... it only worked once after that.crappy thing is the plug was clean. Not black n sooty or fried white n blue.

Can you see a number on the glow plug?  Perhaps a 195GLS or a 187GS.  As well what is the bottom number on the metal id plate on the heater.  It should start with a 311.

I think you may have a B2 heater not a BN2.  Is the cover over the wiring plastic or metal? And no pressure regulator between the Hardi pump and the fuel inlet, right?  And you still have the original pump? It just doesn't work.  Bruce  T on this site is the expert on B2's.  Glow plugs are expensive.

PS
I gave steveo_32 two 12V  B2's a while back and they were both working so glow plugs were good.  See if he will sell you the glow plugs.  Don't think he is going to use the heaters.

Its a metal cover. A couple thumb screws holding it on. No regulator, just a filter with a bail wire. I havent been able to make a camera work or there would be a pic. I will get the tag number in the a.m

Beware, there are two glow plugs that appear to fit, but you have to get the right one for your heater.  Going off the old glow plug is not a good idea since the PO likely changed it a few times in the past, and due to the scarcity of glow plugs, may have installed the wrong one.

The two plugs are 194GRN and 194GRNS.  The difference is that the one ending with an "S" is with a ceramic core to support the coils.  It is also a different resistance so may not interchange.

OK so I went here and downloaded the B2 manual (for years up to Aug. 70) and it says at page 10 of 26, that the correct plug is a 194GRN.

Bruce do you have anything more definitive and year specific?

Still not positive which plug . to use but the dead 1 worked fine for a couple years so I need to find a 194grns plug. I tried looking for vw classics in germany but not sure if I found the right site or if shipping is gonna be an issue. If anyone is willing to sell a plug let me know
