« on: December 14, 2013, 07:29:17 PM »
The 70's rolling Chasis has a narrowed beam , solid pan , good start for ur rusted out bug , easily converts for a 50's or 60's bug was $1295 , will take any decent offers , don't be scared with a low baller one either , I'm feeling generous ;)))

I'm looking for , drop spindles for a early bay , narrowed beam etc . Rims for a 1970 bus/pu etc.

I'm also looking for split bus interior stuff , rear bench seat , interior panels , exterior sheet metal or what have you . Etc

1600's running motor , any accessories , etc. hit me up with what yah got to trade or you can buy it out right for $1000

Note - 65 bug is already unbolted from it's pan , you can mix and match and take it away to start ur own build .
If someone wants the whole package , I will give a fantastic deal , or if there is parts that are more in demand , let me know and I will start taking things off the 65 chassis and go from there :)

Yes thankyou for the clarification , I say Porsche because that's generally what they were on. Just wasn't looking for the cheap , irregular , product knock offs :)

The ones you are talking about are just that .....cheap heavy and just my opinion look cheesy?
I noticed somewhere recently empi redid some of that style in wide 5 that looked much better at a glance. Might have been one of cip's 1000 emails that I saw them on?

Yah , definitely not the CIP ones , these are what I'm after , if sine one has them sitting around and wants to take all this bug stuff in trade , lets do it ;) I'm doubt the trade because my best friend is looking for a set , so it's a win win for everyone ;)

So which wheel do you want??? Wide five fuch style wheel. Or Porsche pattern fuch. The pic you have is a early 4.5 Porsche pattern fuch. They cost about 1500.00 each for real ones or you can buy repros

  • what's this for?
i think what they are trying to say is,

porsche bolt pattren is 5x130 (those are the wheels in your photo)
vw pattren is 5x205 i seem to recall (this is where the "wide 5" term comes from)

in the mid 90's some company made a poor attempt at "fuchs" style wheels in the 5x205 sizes, like josh said heavy and ugly as sin, but lately some people seem to think they are looking cool, prices haven't got to the "cool guy" sizes.

to run the wheels in your photo, takes some changes to your brake system. to have an original set of 4, no matter what width size, sadly i dont think someone will go for the trade.

the repop ones from flat4 are very nice, with some differenences to the original porsche wheel, but does them well imho.
you can get a set used for somehwere close to your trade options.

im sorry but im not going to look for photos of all said wheels, tis the season i just dont have time. but if you look around the interwebs you will get to see what im talking about, hopefully this helps clear things up, and eases your want list asks lol

Dude that's just awesome , the repop Flat 4 to fit a 63 bug without any modifications would suit me just fine , thank you for your input , tis is the season and thankyou guys for enlightening this inquiry . Now being said that , who has them and who wants to make a sweet trade . If my friend doesnt like them then I will run em on my split bus :))

the flat4 ones aren't a direct bolt on! You will need to re drill your brakes if there is enough meat (I've never run 5×130 so I'm not sure) or run adapters? Adapters often push the wheels out too far and then have to narrow beam......so on and so forth.

I have narrowed beams in my veedubs as well as my friend so doing it won't be a problem , I guess it's a matter at this point who has that look of a quality Fuch rim and who wants to make a trade , doing the rest will be on my end . I'm learning more and more about these veedubs that I absolutely love and if I can pass in projects at a fair price or trade , then in my world , it's all awesome . Plus the more peeps I get to know and meet is just priceless :)
