Official GCVWS Swap meet thread. Aug 25th 2013
« on: August 01, 2013, 08:18:45 AM »
Let's get the ball rolling on the "wanted" and "looking to sell" items for the Great Canadian Swap.
Were expecting record numbers of people at this years new location so bring out all your junk!! (VW Gold)
This year you will be able to drive right in with trailer attached and start swaping! Load that vehicle up!

Swap Meet Area spaces are available for every type of VW parts vendor. We offer small private (15' x 15') swap spaces for $40. Swap setup opens at 7am and closes when space is filled (on a first come, first-served basis) and is usually full by 10am.

Online pre-registration for all show cars and swap spaces is now Open.
Visit www.gcvws.com

So Geoff, if the swap spaces are 15x15 will you be providing parking for swap vehicles and trailers or will we be left to our own devices on the street or at Science World overflow parking, assuming there is room there.  Thanks.

Anybody need oval glass? I have lots of orig. logo'd in nice driver shape and a new windshield too

Couple ribbed door mechanisms $40 ea

Set of short axle tubes $80

Set of polished Erco stupidly light wheels, wide 5 pattern...think they're 5" front 5.5 rears, 2 were bent in crash but got straightened and re polished. These are getting very hard to come by as they are done in super limited runs....CHEAP CHEAP $500!!!

Aftermarket front apron with original German 4 finger section grafted in $100

Old keystone (I think) wide 5 to chev adapters $20 a set

Original German rocker shafts converted to solid/bolt together with 1.1:1 rockers and swivel feet $20

Couple starters 12v $20

Bunch of deluxe ivory interior knobs, exscusions heater knobs, hood release cable etc. $5-15

Most people just need A 15-15 but we will allow everyone to have more room this year so bring out a trailer full!

Nope. I thought late 53 the two line Sekurit with AS-2 and a DURO-GLAS was added. I have an old vent with the short pivot on the bottom, but that glass.

There's an ad on the samba right now for the same vent listed as a 53-55 with the extra text below SEKURIT. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1510746

A good sign of early or late vents is the locking mechanism. Both have short posts, the early on the right "B".
For the samba ad I'd say that one was earlier based on the lock, yet the glass extra text on the glass.
