Brake Hub adaptors and calliper Brakets
« on: October 29, 2014, 11:30:42 AM »
Is there anyone local. In Van that does special machine work.
What i'm after is someone that can machine spindles, and Brake hubs so that they work with each other. What I want to do is have a set of Boxster Hubs machined to fit Beetle Wheel Bearings so i can mount them onto my CB drop spindles. And then Fabricate Calliper mounts. on the rear I plan on using 944 Disc's and Boxster Callipers, so just need Brackets Fabricated and a way to solve the E-brake cable problems. Is there anyone local that I can turn to for Help with this. I know its doable.

Thanks for any pointers.

René

Not local but Canadian (Ontario)

Lanner probably knows exactly what you require to fit your brake system.
Like machining the hubs correctly. It is usually better to pay a bit more so it is done right the first time.

Any other options other than Lanner. He just moved this summer to Alberta. I ordered a front and rear set up from him but think I might have to find other options. As I already have the Calipers disc's pads wheels etc. So I need to stick to the boxster/944 hub set up. Unfortunatly Lanner doesn't seem to have time to work on my brake set up.

Thanks Dave,

I dropped him a mail said he'd have time for me in the new year! Getting my brother then to contact him and arrange the details of the conversion.

Adam ended up doing the conversion parts for me. From the pictures it looks like clean work. It is custom work but did cost more than I expected. With that said he was easy to work with patient and when he had everything got it done quite quickly. So I would recommend his work and if need be use his services again for parts fabrication. If it works out here when I have the car imported I might do a series of the same kit to sell local. But that's still a ways away:-)

All in all Adam did a great job and would totally recommend him!
