Jamar Aluminum front beams and W5 spindles???

Any racers run aluminum front ends or know anything about them? Ken Rider is a customer of mine and he is wondering if any locals use the set up as they are contemplating using this setup in the Inch Pincher 4 for next season. It supposedly will save them 100lbs. Goods, bads and indifferents would be appreciated. Thanks

A few of the DVKK have run them, Jimmy, Gavin,.. I sold many over the years for race cars and some street use cars. Stay away from the cheap repo ones and buy a Jamar as you stated. The cheap ones use a slightly larger id tube and some have to be shimmed.

The beams work very well and even better with a set of LanD beam mounts!

Not even close to that.  An entire steel front beam, spindle to spindle doesn't even weigh 100lbs.  I think Alan said once it saves 40 lbs.

Don't AL beams have issues with bending on full wegiht street cars that have a habit of picking up the front end or is this just a myth?

Hey jay, like Bruce said it will likely only save 40-50 lbs max. If it is for a race car an alum beam is way more likely to bend with some big wheelies. If it is for a street car with a bit of track use: a good quality jamar beam has been proven plenty for the street.
