i have never tried this, but i have heard that you can keep the wheel mounted to the drum and find a cone to fit the hub of the drum and balance wide 5's.

has anyone ever tried this? if so and it works, tom the tire guy must have a cone for his machine that would fit a drum hub.

when i had my steel wheels straightened at greens automotive, i  bought a set of 4 bolt to wide five adaptors  and had them use the adaptors to get the hole small enough to get a cone in there

just to let everyone know i had Big O in maple ridge balance the tires, they have an adapter for it.
also got an email from 55Oval who pointed me to this place as well

\"hey,
james tire just north of mission, heading into hatzic,on hwy 7 still has the old bubble balance machine and can balance the wide five bolt patterns. he is only open friday and saturday's. i talked to him on saturday march 26 just to confirm and he said not a problem!\"

so we have a couple alternatives out there
