Thanks for the kind words guys!

Geoff, since your the master fabricator of the 911 conversions here,  do you see anything you would have done different and/or better? (besides the intake gaskets!) Nows the time to change anything up
I'm not Geoff but maybe gussett the engine mount to strengthen it if there is room against the rear valance.   Is it made out of 3/4 x 1/16 wall square tubing or something wider and thicker?   Of course I can't really tell what it is made of.  The picture makes it look small and in need of some strength.

Matt,

I kind of agree with Kevin....well maybe. Depending on the depth dimension of the stock Porsche mount.

Its hard to explain with a picture. Ill try. The stresses developed in a retangular member due to bending are a factor of the depth of the member cubed, therefore, depth of member in the plane of the load is very important.

Best example I can think of is a try to break a plastic ruler bending it on the flat, then on edge, obviously much easier on the flat. I know there is some other factors in this. So I calculated the Section Modulus of A ---> Matt Mount 1\" x 1\" x 1/8\" thk vs. B----> Stock POrchse Mount 3\"
(?) deep x 3/16\" thk with 1/2\" \"lips\" on top and bottom.

A -----> 1867mm^3
B -----> 8044mm^3

Therefore, if the porchse mount is 3\" deep (?) stresses in the 1\" x 1\" tubing would be 4.44 times more than the stock mount, which would be bad.... if the stock mount is only 1.5\" or whatever....propbably not an issue.....make sense?

Cheers
Mike
