Wheel run-out on smoothies
« on: February 22, 2011, 11:09:20 AM »
I'm wanting to blast and paint my 15' smoothies soon but spun them on the front drums without the rubbers on to see how straight they were... they all have some run-out, about 1/8 in on a couple. one goes up and down a smidgen too. How much is acceptable  on these? Has anyone else checked theirs? Were they like this new? I know a little is no big deal, but don't want to put the effort and $ if I can find a better set.

Thanks, Jerome

VW's spec is 1.5mm.
I've seen specs from Honda and Porsche at 1.0mm.  Both radial and lateral.
If you have 1/8", that's way too much.
You could try Green's to get them straight.
