Got new rims with tires and need to know if the tire on it will fit on my 1964?

thats alot of tire to stuff under there.
one way of finding out would be to jack up the rear, pop off your stock wheels and toss those big boys on. let the car down gently. i'm thinking you'll have either springplate or fender lip clearance issues.
225's seem pretty extreme. most of the cal-look guys run 205/70's. bruce tweddle has 215's on his car i think.
195's or 185's with a thick aspect ratio would look allright too.

They are in. see below:

It seems to run ok, and i got 1/2 inch between the tires and the plate inside. everything else appears clear.

So I am.

Saw the tires on the car in person today and yeah they are big.. Espiecially compared to my 175 50 r15s lol

They look good, but i will go smaller when i can $$ or if Some else need them and have a reasonable trade.
