I do have the lugs for them (wil fit right in) and they have a different thread than any other set that i have.
where should i look?

Need to know what the thread and pitch is on the lugs you've got.
Stock beetle is 14mm x 1.5
If the wheels nuts you have are imperial, not metric, I have a set of adapter studs for you that are likely the ones you need.

i have 14mm to 12mm and 12mm to 12mm with several lugs that do not fit into the wheels.
i also have the right lugs that fit into the wheels but the thread if different than my 12mm from my old 64.

any tire shop can help you.

You most likely need 1/2 to 14mm studs. The 14 thread to the drum and the 1/2 to the lug bolt.

Thanks everyone. I will start looking this weekend.

In which case I have 20 studs which will work.
