8 dowell cranks & slicks - Bad news?
« on: July 17, 2010, 03:09:07 PM »
I know that wedgemating is the way to go, however have any of you run a mild HP motor with an 8 dowell crank & DOT slicks on the track?  Does anyone locally do wedgemating of the crank/flywheel?

Thanks, Stephan

I have a non wedgemated 8 dowel crank in my 1914 and run slicks and tranny with a spool and so far so good!

I was able to do wheelies in my 1900lb tank with slicks.  No wedgie here.

Good stuff!  thanks guys!  I didn't want to shell out the extra $$ and take the motor apart if the car would only see the track a few times a year.
