Title: Convert Irs To Wide 5 Drums
Post by: flat4 on May 13, 2007, 07:56:05 AM
I'm looking to swap a ball joint/IRS pan to wide 5.  I have a wide 5 disc brake kit for the front, but am wondering what works in the rear.  I do have a pair of type 3 later rear wide 5 drums, but don't know if they will work, what mods need to be done, shoes, cylinders, and all that jazz.

Anyone?

Just find any later type 3 rear backing plates (with e brake levers etc.)  Then pick up some new type 3 shoes and cylinders from ACVW or.....

back from the dead - but i couldn't help myself...

good luck finding the backing plates.

easiest - use 1966-67 front and rear brakes.  cut off 12mm off the 4 lug drum nipple and use it as a spacer.
