After reading many posts here I am surprised at the number of vw in this area. I live on the trans canada near Kamloops and I seldom see a classic VW go by. I am building a 1961 rag , after 6 mons work ready to take to paint next week. I hope to have it on the road this summer and take it to some of your events. I went to the show in Vancouver last summer , bought a bunch of parts from the vendors, great time for my son and I. Never knew there was an interior of bc group hope to see you this summer.

looking good! you must be excited to get some paint on it soon!

Making good progress, back from paint, doors put back together, headliner installed with new rag and yesterday got it back on the pan. Maybe there is a finish line.

Looking great! Hate that window chrome joiner. ;)
-
Took that window out three times to reset the chrome, it pops out during install. We had to quit before someone started throwing wrenches.
-
Don't get me started on front window installation in this town.

paint & reassembly looks great! keep up the good work!

Thanks guys I'm happy with the result, can't wait to go for a road trip. We live in a rural area so I was able to drive it around the neighbourhood and get the engine and braking set up.I talked to a nice fellow at ICBC "VW GUY" he said collector plates are taking 8 weeks right now. I'm not in as much of a hurry now took a hard fall a few days ago cracked 6 vertebrae, won't be driving for a while. Hot night in the city at Kamloops is my goal.
This is the first VW I have done and I can say the helpful advice I received from the VW community can only be described as EPIC. To anyone working on a project my best advice would be to buy the best parts you can, preferably German, it will save hrs of frustration and you will end up buying the German part anyway.

Very nice, can't wait to see it around town!

if you're up for it, bring your car to the coast for the 25th annual great canadian vw show weekend...it's going to be awesome!! and it looks like there is a vw convoy heading down from your neck of the woods...
