Oh I know how - Be the first one on the track with a POS bus and blow the trans and pour 50 year old trans oil on the track with Jim staging next and then you can beat him! Lol! J/k

Well, I'd love to add to this thread with a car I'd actually be driving, but my 99 golf 2.0 and slipping clutch wouldn't win vs. a snail :P

Hey Jim,

If there is room for another 68 Beetle at the track, there's a 50/50 chance I'll be able to race.

I'm just trying to meet a deadline at work, and then hopefully get away from Calgary by Thursday night in time to get to Mission on Friday...

Hi Neal , that would be great .if you make it i will buy you a mission raceway dinner .
for the test and tune gates open at 8.00 am and you can pay for the test and tune and evenning drags in 1 shot .
For the test and tune you can arrive any time between 8 am and say 2:pm track usally stops the test and tune between 3:30 -4:00
to see if they have space e-mail direct to   rentals@missionraceway.com  and let them know you want to come for the friday 23rd test and tune
and they will get back to you within 24 hrs

if you are coming to the evenning drags gates open at 4:00 pm and racing starts around 5 ish.
evenning drags is limited to the first 250 cars .it hasnt been busy at all so i would think as long as your there by 5:30 pushing to 6 you should be ok .but hey ive been wrong before so best come as early as possible .
i will be in early /all day and will work on saving some vw area for us .

I'd love to represent the Okanagan for racing but my motor is brand new. I'm breaking it in on the drove down, so I'll have to wait until next year. I did just find an old timing slip from racing my bay panel in RWYB at Bug Jam in the UK 20 years ago. A solid 23 second quarter. Wow.

Not sure if I'm going to bring the Single Cab and race SMC, or bring the rally beetle and find out how fast slow it is down the quarter mile. I just broke in a new cam & bearings yesterday, so racing it probably isn't the smartest decision...

So I'v only got 36 HP (probably more like 30) Are there any cars coming out that are stock like that? I'm only interested in all out drag racing none of this lame bracket racing where you don't try to go as fast as your car can go! :driving1:

We'd be a good match, I usually run low 13's at just over 100 MPH, with the odd 12.8-12.9 ET on the few days that I actually shift the gears properly...LOL!

hans...good for those guys! what a great way to get hooked on the 1/4! if either of them have a stocker, send them to the SMC!!

dave (owdlvr)...as much as i like the rally car, i believe i read in your buyers agreement that one of the stipulations of the sale was that the previous owners demand that you take the single cab to the races! so you're bound by law to race the truck!!

jeremy...drop that rt, and aim for a sub 20 second 100kmh+ pass and you're golden!!

richard kuczko & notrious B.U.G...the Stock Motor Challenge is the class you want to be in. lots of loot to be won and lots of good 'ole heads up pedal to the metal racing!! check the link below...
