Blew spark plug #1
« on: August 26, 2013, 01:25:14 AM »
Has anyone ever blown spark plug #1 out of a single port head or any for that matter? I was driving home tonight from the show and then bang. I called the tow truck and had her towed back home. I am going to try and timesert it unless someone has a better suggestion?
Thanks guys
Matt

I think you have much bigger issues than just a blown plug, sadly it's engine drop time and the head has to come off at the very least or you risk destroying the entire engine if it's not already too late.

yes, the damage to the plug looks suspicious. not sure if a valve may be coming apart ot something got down the carb but the best bet is to pull the engine as Busdaddy mentioned.

Oh my , that does not look good ,   but there is maybe a faint hope that this damage was from the plug hitting some thing on the way out...........?

Thanks guys I will let you know when I get it apart. I really hope the spark plug hit something on the way out  as Hansk said . I am thinking it will be a piston that slapped it out or more on the lines of what Geoff and Busdaddy said. Not a fun way to end such am amazing weekend but at least she made it out :-) props to old blue.
