Aye guys. So I'm trying to install the front seats on my 74 standard beetle. It's got the tracks, it's not the newer style. From what I've been reading is you install them from the front back right ? Also there is this lever by the shifter. It seems to hit it and won't go pass. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't think those are original '74 seats or tracks. IIRC my '74 original tracks were 3 point (one in front center and one on each side at rear). Maybe someone changed the pan halves/tracks with older style?

Nope, but I can't recall exactly when the seat tracks changed, 73 I thought.

73 was the change. I have one standard and one super. Both the same seat adjustment mechanism and 3 point seat frame base mounts. In the OP's second pic, I see a 72 and earlier pan half on a 73 and later chassis. If the seat adjustment lever stand is in the way you know what has to be done.

Have the pans been changed? Seems those "levers" are for the new style seat mounts no?

Sure looks that way from here.
