Installing Glass Into Vent Frames
« on: February 22, 2004, 11:06:01 PM »
The factory manual shows a special fixture being used to install the glass into the vent window frame.  Does anyone have such a fixture that they maybe made a while ago?  Has anyone installed the glass without a fixture?  If so, how did you do it?

Great link Russ.  Did ya read his yarn about trying to register the car?  Always funny when someone else has problems.
Now I just have to find someone who has made such a fixture.

Just a suggestion
I have installed many vent glass, just have not installed them the way theywere put in at the factory, but it has always worked. It may not be the OEM finish but it works. Depending on the gap between the frame and the glass, or the rubber use I use a bead of urethane and glue that puppy right in there. If its done right it looks good, no leaks and permanent until broken.
thanks
