FS: 1970 Double Cab
« on: May 23, 2013, 07:04:34 PM »
oing to try this again as the yard is just too full.
Double cab no longer has the wood gates, comes with real doublecab gates for this year that need work. Also includes original rear seat and seat support that is missing from so many of these. Truck bed is completely solid and outer rockers are decent, needs corners and floors. This truck needs a lot of frame work though, middle sections are solid but jack supports/outriggers are rusted away, as well as rust around where the torsion bar supports go through the frame in the rear, and the "Y" shaped supports by the front beam. 1600DP Engine runs okay, I've never really taken it for a spin though due to the lack of brakes (except E Brake). Front floor is mostly cut out. If somebody is interested in this I must say you would need a trailer to take it away (I've had some people asking me if it could be driven if brakes fixed etc etc). Registration in my name but apparently it had been pulled over sometime before I got it and requires a provincial inspection before it goes back on the road. Vehicle is located in Powell River, and as that is quite a drive for a lot of people I will say right out: this truck would be a big project. I don't want to deceive anybody about it's condition and have disappointed people mad at me for the wasted 5 hour trip haha. Price wise I am asking pretty much what I've got into it after hunting down the gates, $1100. Going by Samba prices, the rear seat and the gates alone are worth the asking price. If you want more pics of the underside and rocker areas, PM me your email and I'll send out some more detailed pics.

Bumping back up, still $900, plenty of pics here on thesamba, in this thread: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=6800962&highlight=#6800962
Also the bottom 2 pics that BWAZ has up there are NOT this truck, they are of another bus, not sure how they got there.
