Removing Surface Rust
«
on:

My 58 was dipped last summer and is starting to get a light coat of surface rust on it. Is there something I could use to get the rust off without sanding it...Some sort of chemical?
Thanks

your best bet would be to sand it, or sandblast it is even better. then put it in epoxy primer as soon as it is clean metal again. there is metal conditioners out there, but I have no experience with them as rust removers.

I figured blasting would be the way to go, shouldn't take much to get it clean again.
thanks
